OUR SAILING PACKAGES - LEARN A LOT IN A SHORT TIME
If you want to learn as much as you can in a limited period of time then our sailing packages are for you. Since we introduced these packages, they have proved increasingly popular as they provide a fast and enjoyable way to learn both the theory and practical skills you need to skipper a sailing yacht.
Each package includes an RYA theory course as well as one or more RYA practical courses. The training materials for the theory courses are of the high quality that you would expect from a world leader in sailing instruction.
The RYA produces its own training charts, Almanac, and simulation GPS plotter on CD, which are included in the course pack that comes with the theory course. You can choose to study online or spend a few days in a hotel on our pretty island of Aegina learning the theory you need prior to your practical sailing instruction with us.
For those who want to progress as fast as possible we offer the following combinations of courses:
NAVIGATION & DAY SKIPPER PRACTICAL: 7 DAYS
The RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship (ENS) course gives you suitable background knowledge for your RYA Day Skipper Non-Tidal course and you can take this package in a week. (also available with an online option).
COMP CREW, NAVIGATION & DAY SKIPPER PACKAGE: 12 DAYS
Go from beginner to skippering a yacht in just 12 days? Yes, it is possible for many people to do that, especially those with some boating experience. Taking the courses consecutively means that everything is fresh in your mind as you move to the next level. We have a very high pass rate at Day Skipper level.
As with any activity, people vary enormously in their natural aptitude and speed of learning. Some may need a little more practice before they're ready to take on full responsibility for a yacht and her crew but why not aim high and see how you do? Even if you don't pass all three courses you'll pass some of them, have a great holiday, and enjoy sailing in beautiful Greece.
Marine Radio Option: A 1-day Marine Radio Operator course can be added to any of these packages, giving you all you will need to charter in countries such as Croatia that require both a skipper's certificate and a radio certificate. This is an internationally recognised certificate and the course will give you an understanding of GMDSS as well as hands-on experience of using specially adapted GMDSS radio sets.
