RYA COASTAL SKIPPER (NON-TIDAL)

If you dream of skippering a yacht through coastal passages - of making the Med your oyster - it's time to make it a reality. Coastal Skipper is an advanced course for competent sailors (with at least 15 days' crew and 5 days' skipper experience). It gives you all the skills you need to skipper a yacht by day and night. During the course you will also complete a Yachtmaster qualifying passage of at least 60 nautical miles. Meet people with similar aspirations, enjoy great on-board cuisine, and prepare to be challenged.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

You'll be up-to-date with skipper theory and practical skills, so this course covers more advanced aspects of sailing: passage planning, pilotage by day and night, advanced boat handling, safety procedures, dealing with high winds and rough water, and how to manage emergency situations.

PREREQUISITES: SHORE-BASED SKIPPER NON-TIDAL THEORY PLUS EITHER RYA COMPETENT CREW OR AT LEAST 5 DAYS AS THE ACTIVE CREW OF A CRUISING YACHTDAY SKIPPER NON-TIDAL
