RYA COMPETENT CREW

'Competent Crew' is a five-day introduction to sailing, equipping you to become a competent member of the crew of a cruising yacht. Anyone can enjoy this course, even if they've never stepped on a boat before! It's a fun, sociable course, and highly recommended whether you are travelling alone or with a group of friends. You'll live aboard the yacht and take part in all the day-to-day activities from using the anchor to making lunch. But it's not all hard work - we'll take time to explore the unspoilt Saronic Gulf, moor in colourful fishing harbours, and swim in crystal clear waters.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

Competent Crew is an RYA-accredited course designed to give you the confidence to work as part of a crew. You'll learn the basics of sailing: how to steer, how to hoist and trim the sails, how to handle the anchor and mooring lines, how to respond to emergency situations; and you'll also learn basic theory, including the names of parts of the boat, useful knots, and personal safety guidelines.
